About Sol Sanctuary, Costa Rica
Sol Sanctuary is a mission-driven project dedicated to healing humans, animals, and the environment together.
Our Threefold Mission:
1. Deepen Your Connection with the Earth: Immerse yourself in the heart of Costa Rican nature. Our jungle and nearby Playa Grande beach location provides a chance to reconnect with nature, give back to the Earth, all while volunteering to support our wildlife rescue center.
2. Embrace Eco-Conscious Practices: Sustainability is at our core. We use a recycled water system, source local produce, and offer eco-friendly amenities, ensuring your time in Costa Rica minimizes environmental impact.
3. Protect Wildlife and the Future:
All donations into our program are channeled through the Wildlife Protection Alliance, our non-profit organization tax exempt as a U.S. 501(c)(3) and a certified Fundacion in Costa Rica.
Located in Playa Grande, Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Nestled along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and a short distance from Tamarindo, Playa Grande is a hidden gem that offers an unforgettable experience for surfers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
This vibrant coastal town is renowned for its pristine beaches, and consistent surf breaks, it attracts surfers from all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner looking to catch your first wave or an experienced rider seeking a challenge, Playa Grande has it all.
Beyond its waves, Playa Grande is also home to incredible wildlife. Situated adjacent to Las Baulas National Marine Park, it offers the unique opportunity to witness the nesting ritual of leatherback turtles. From October to March they come ashore to lay their eggs.
Our center is located an hour and a half from Daniel Oduber Quirós International (LIR) Airport.
Our Bungalows
These bungalows are not just structures; they are artfully crafted from reclaimed wood and other recycled materials, breathing new life into forgotten resources. From the locally sourced furniture to the eco-friendly amenities, we have taken every possible step to ensure that your experience here is not only luxurious but also aligned with your values. Each bungalow is themed as a local Costa Rican animal.

Farm-to-table dining
Our chef is committed to serving fresh, healthy, and delicious meals. We serve farm-to-table, using eggs from our chickens, vegetables from our garden, and fish from our tilapia pond. We can accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences for a small fee. We provide 3 meals a day, with a variety of healthy snacks available for purchase.
